Welcome
I am so pleased you are here.
Hello, friend. Please allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Angela, and I am a surface designer and museum professional. I spent the past thirty years working in museums both large and small, surrounded by extraordinary objects and the enduring beauty of human craftsmanship across time and culture. I was drawn to museum collections care for the opportunity to work closely with these works and developed a deep appreciation for the stories, artistry, and sense of place they carry.
Today, those influences shape my work in illustration and pattern design, where I create imagery inspired by the things that feel most like home to me: history, nature, architecture, animals, and the quiet emotional landscapes they evoke.
The name Essex Hill reflects this personal geography. It is a blend of New England and the rolling farmland of rural Pennsylvania, two places that continue to inform my sense of beauty and belonging.
This was my first commissioned wallpaper. The colors were chosen to match the paint in the home: Benjamin Moore’s Electric Blue and Cliffside Gray.
